Dana Swain, Ph.D Depth Psychologist, Writer & Teacher
Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart. Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens. - Carl Jung
My passion is collaboration with inspiration. The root of the word inspire, enspiren, means to be filled with the breath or energy of the sacred, and to excite or inflame that sacred energy into expression and action. Whatever life path we may be traveling, it is often the direct experience of the sacred that deeply compels, motivates, and transforms us. My work is to help you understand and express the sacred wisdom that is emerging from the deep wellspring of your being, and to express that unique gift and voice in the world.
I am a Jungian depth psychologist, an expressive arts therapist, and a kundalini meditation teacher with over 25 years of experience working with the energy of kundalini. I have conducted workshops worldwide, including work with youth in Luanda, Angola (see https://www.tamalpa.org/wp-content/uploads/Swain_Packard-1.pdf) I lived overseas for fourteen years in Africa, Brazil, and Indonesia. As a result I have a deep appreciation for spiritually and culturally diverse experiences which offer opportunities to embrace our uniqueness while honoring our common humanity.
I offer kundalini classes and retreats, writing workshops, and in-depth coaching and consultations related to personal and spiritual development. My consultations engage the wisdom of the body and work with the potent messages of dreams to guide the process of delving into the creative energy of the psyche.
I am here to support you in deepening the connection to your own sacred source.
Embodied Dream Work: When we close our eyes for sleep, we enter the mysterious, compelling, and often perplexing world of dreams. Figures and images of our dream life have something to tell us, something that speaks to situations and themes in our daily life, and even may have something to share about the future. Often, however, we cannot understand the language of our dreams.
In embodied dreamwork, we go beyond traditional methods of interpreting dreams to work with the images in creative dialogue, called animation, that gives a space for the dream images to have their own voice and share their own messages. Dreams have specific presence and place, and even an imaginal body, and listening to what dream figures have to tell us can enrich our daily life and guide us on our spiritual journeys.
In a dreamwork sessions we will:
Work with dreams and dream images as living presences that have information to share.
Use our bodies to go beyond rational interpretation of dreams to feel into the energy of dreams in a direct and visceral way.
Dialogue with dream images to listen to their wisdom
Learn skills to work with dream images on your own
